Our organization is located in the town of San Andres Itzapa, inhabited in 60% by indigenius people. Anyone who would like to help us and spend some time with our family is very welcome ! Please email us to let us know!
By volunteering you can have the opportunity to know and learn more about our traditions and at the same time you can teach more about your cultures and expand more knowledge at the same time. We believe it can be a beautiful exchange of our rich cultures
One of the favourite activities done by our volunteers during their stay in San Andres Itzapa are :
- Cooking – we will try to teach you some of the traditional dishes from our part of Guatemala, people love to make tortillas 🙂
- Weaving. Big part of our culture is huipil – traditional blouse which Mayan woman use everyday. They are beautifully hand-made. You will be able to get to know the secrets of weaving huipil and skirts.
- Participating in annual fiestas. San Andres is famous by its festivals which take place almost every month
